Each year thousands of people get a one-way ticket to South East Florida seeking drug and alcohol treatment, with the assumption of going back home after treatment. For one reason or another they end up staying in south east Florida which has made it the mecca for recovery. It has turned into one huge college campus; everyone being connected in one way or another. Such a big and unique demographic needs its own social network so let’s get started with this. The Florida shuffle involves many treatment facilities that promise recovery, yet offer little more than a cruel sleight of hand. Some equate the Florida shuffle to human trafficking. While extreme, this comparison plays off the fact that many treatment centers operate in violation of the Florida Patient Brokering Act.
